Wifi America started with a passion for helping connect people in the harshest of environments. Our very first job was a favor to a friend who owns a campground. He had no cell service, no internet service and no hope of getting any of those services. We fell in love with the campground and began staying there often. One day, I approached the owner and asked if I could try to help. I explained that as a business owner, I had a need to stay connected. He agreed to look at a proposal. I did my homework and within a week or so, I had a plan. There was a location, on top of a nearby mountain, where we could get 1 Gbps service. We had a nice line of sight. We piped in the 1 Gbps service with a one mile 60 GHz link, locally distributed it using a 5 GHz grid, and offered the service through dual radio Access Points. With this arrangement, we were able to add cameras throughout the property, add access control at the gate and bath house, and still get 100+ Mbps out of the Access Points. Now there is fast, reliable 100+ Mbps internet service and wifi calling all over the 20 acre campground. The owner was elated and his business has tripled. We began getting referral calls from this customer, right away. Now, we travel the country doing what we love best…. connecting people.
